MEET THE BEARCAT COUNSELORS

Greetings, Bearcats!

My name is Mrs. MaTina Clark. I am the 7-12 Professional School Counselor for North Butler Schools. After teaching high school English for fifteen years, I made the switch to school counseling. I am currently in my seventh year of counseling. I am also the North Butler High School Speech and Drama Director, High School Student Council Advisor, Peer Mentoring Program Advisor, and Volunteer Assistant Cross Country Coach.

I graduated from Osage High School in Osage, Iowa, in 1989. I received my AA degree from NIACC in 1991, my BA in English Education from UNI in 1994, and my MAE in School Counseling from UNI in 2012. I also received my K-12 coaching authorization from NIACC in 2012.

My husband, Kirk, and I have been married since August 1990. He teaches 5-6 Social Studies at North Butler Elementary. He is also the head coach for cross country and high school boys track. Kirk does summer maintenance for the school, and drives the bus for athletic events and substitutes as a route driver. We have two great kids: Addyson, a freshman at NIACC, and Dawson an 8th grader at North Butler Junior High School. As a family, we enjoy vacationing around the midwest, going to NASCAR races, and going to Minnesota Vikings games.

Hello!

I'm Samantha (Sam) Gribben, the Elementary School Counselor at North Butler. This is my first year at North Butler and my first year counseling. I am from Mason City, Iowa and graduated from Newman Catholic in 2008. I attended NIACC where I received my AA and went on to Buena Vista University where I received a BA in Psychology and Human Services. I was a Paraprofessional for two years at Mason City Schools before moving to Mankato. I graduated in May 2016 with a MS in Professional School Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am now making my home in Waverly where I enjoy cooking, being outdoors, and watching hockey. I am excited to be a new member of the North Butler School family. GO BEARCATS!!!
